Oh behalf of our sisters, welcome!
My name is Lissy Laham and I am the president of the Iota Iota chapter of Alpha Phi at The George Washington University. I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly honored I am to represent such an incredible group of women that I have the privilege of calling my sisters. Our chapter consists of girls who continually inspire me to become the best sister, leader, and student I can be. I have gained more from joining Alpha Phi than I, as a tentative freshmen going through recruitment, could have ever imagined.
The women who make up this chapter are diverse. We hail from coast to coast and across the globe. We major in everything from business and marketing to sociology and history. We are dancers, D-1 athletes, NROTC members, marathon runners, expert food bloggers, and world travelers. Not one of us is identical to another, but together we create a synergy that is unparalleled to that of any organization I’ve ever been a part of. Our chapter shares a genuine bond centered around Alpha Phi’s values of sisterhood, scholarship, service, leadership, loyalty, and character development.
GW is a large place, but after joining Alpha Phi I’ve never once felt alone. The camaraderie that this chapter fosters has been the single biggest contributor to my success and happiness in college. Alpha Phi has provided me with an unflappable support system, comprised of 150 strong, empathetic, and loyal women. I have found my home.
As president, I am so incredibly honored to present to you the Iota Iota chapter of Alpha Phi. Enjoy exploring our website to learn more about all of the incredible things our chapter has to offer! Feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding Alpha Phi or Greek Life at GW!
